The improved selfie

LoveStyleHappiness

What does one do with time off of work? Take blog photos of course!
Frustrated by the lack of shared photography vision with the hubby, I had recently ordered a tripod from Amazon so that I could take matters into my own hand.  Since I wasn't sure whether or not I would suck at self photography, I decided not to invest too much in a tripod and got this one for a cool $25.  I also invested in a remote so I wouldn't have to run back and forth like a madwoman.  And it was under $10! You can find it here if you're interested.

I think the key to great photographs is good lighting.  I always try to use good natural lighting especially since I don't want to invest in lighting equipment (gal on a budget here).  I wanted to start earlier in the day when there was even more light coming through but unfortunately (or not, depending on how you look at it) I decided to sleep in that morning. So I did the best I could by varying my position relative to the light.

It took a little getting used to but I think I kinda have this selfie thing down. What do you think? Constructive criticism is always welcome.

What I'm Wearing:
-Top: Peplum from Forever 21(sold out, but this strapless one is nice)
-Skirt: Bodycon from Urban Outfitters (similar color)
-Shoes: Jessica Simpson Peeptoe pumps (similar)
-Necklace: Rose Gold necklace from my shop
-Bracelet: a silver bangle souvenir from Thailand
-Nails: Essie First Timer

  1. you look amazing!! i agree taking selfie's is HARD.. and feels so weird when you're first doing it.. but you (sort of) eventually get the hang of it.. haha.. i still don't always direct the camera at the best angles.. but it's definitely a learning process. either way you look fabulous and i LOVEE your hair in that first photo.. like the most amazing blowout ever hehe!!

  14. I almost never have someone to take my photos and my husband is a very unreliable photographer, so you have inspired me to take matters into my own hands as well! I think I will get that remote!!

Love your pics and you look great!
