Leavin' on a jet plane...

Apologies for the lack of updates. It's been a hectic couple of weeks and tomorrow I'll be leaving for a 2 week vacation to Spain and France... definitely a long overdue vacation! I will say that this trip as has been the least planned out of all past vacations (VERY surprising.. *OCD girl over here*).  And yet at the same time it's kind of refreshing to not have anything planned.  Spontaneity is the spice of life... supposedly. I'll have internet access every hotel I go to, so if anyone has suggestions for Barcelona and Paris (food, activities, or whatever else) I'd love to hear them!

Before I head off, here's a quick photo of a Sunday OTD.

LABOR Day Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend full of fun and relaxation! I on the other hand was definitely laboring (abeit voluntarily).

This past Sunday was the Disneyland Half Marathon! Goodness it was a difficult run! The conditions were definitely not optimal (for me).  Saturday was a travel day.  We flew down to SoCal (after a 2 hour delay) and before we could even check into the hotel we had to rush over to the Expo to grab our runner's packets. By the time we grabbed everything it was already 5pm and we opted for an early dinner at Bucca Di Beppo. Of course every runner (and their mommas) had the same idea and the place was packed.  We decided to grab Bucca To-Go instead so that we wouldn't have to wait an hour and a half for a table. At that point I was super dehydrated from a long day with little water.  Now what I forgot to mention is that the race starts at 5:45am (!) and we were supposed to be at our corrals by 4:30am... which means the hubsters and I would have to wake up at 3am to eat breakfast and get ready.  Chalk it up to nerves or that huge Bucca dinner... whatever it was, I COULD NOT FALL ASLEEP for the life of me! I think I got about 2 hours of sleep.  I woke up and as I was getting ready I noticed that I was feeling a little feverish. I popped an Advil and hoped for the best seeing as how I was running this race no matter what. I trained too damn long for this thing.

Here's a blurry cell phone pick of the start. See those bright lights ahead? That's where the starting line is.

So how did I do?

.... I finished! A few minutes shy of my goal but it's ok... next race!

Here's what the medal looks like. Not as cool looking as the Tinkerbell Half Marathon medal they had at the Expo but it's ok! I'm not complaining.
