Forever and a day...

Hi! Feels like an eternity since I've been on here.  So much has been going on and I feel awful for neglecting my blog.  I've missed reading all of your blogs too! So here's a quick recap of all the things going on:

1. We're REMODELING! Yup, that's right. our home is a big dusty mess (and will remain one for 3 months).  As of last week the kitchen is no more! Where once stood cabinets and counter tops is now one huge void.  And we have plastic drop sheets all over the house. It's seriously like a scene out of Contagion or something.  Meals have consisted of Subway sandwiches and Trader Joe's salads and entrees. Quite frankly I'm starting to miss a good home cooked meal.

2. I signed up for my first full marathon on a whim. Well, somewhat of a whim. I've been teetering back and forth about whether or not I really want to do it and the hubsters pointed out that there was a special one day only discount. So I did it.  Oh dear god what did I do?! So now most of my mornings consist of training for the race. Here's to 20 weeks of training!

3. A little bit of sad news.  We lost our dear rabbit over the holidays.  It was an especially tough time for me as it happened very suddenly.  It took a long time for me not to feel sad every time I thought about him or every time someone asked how he was doing and then I would have to tell them what happened.

That's pretty much all that's been going on.  I just haven't had the energy to blog or work on creating new pieces of jewelry for my Etsy shop until now.  I feel horrible for neglecting it for so long but I'm also very glad to be back now!  I still need to finish my Europe recap! sheesh! Talk about procrastinating. I'm going to post our San Sebastian pictures next time *promise*.

I'm going to leave you with a few pictures of our little bun bun.  We loved him very much and will always remember all the good times we had together.

Try and Try Again Pt. 2: Online

In part 1 I showed you all the stuff that I tried on and/or purchased in-store.  For part 2, I'm going to show you pictures of all the stuff I recently ordered online.  I think the success rate of my online shopping was much much lower (which I guess is kind of a good thing since I get my money back).

First up is Gap.  They had a 30% off sale so I ordered these polka dot jeans in 2 different sizes.  I ordered the petite 0 and 2.  I didn't even try the 2 because size 0 was already too loose in some places.  I think the 00s would have been a better fit. The size 0s bunch up in funny places and I also think that they are a bizarre length on me.  Anyway, I didn't love them enough to re-order them in the 00.

Try and Try Again Pt. 1

This year I didn't do any Black Friday (or Cyber Monday for that matter) shopping.  I wasn't in the mood to fight the crowds in-store and I didn't see any great deals online.  However, since I had the week off of work I decided to head to the local mall and do a little shopping while everyone else was work (in hopes of being able to browse in peace and quiet).  I didn't walk away with much, but here's all the stuff I tried on.

The first stop was Banana Republic.  I really liked their dresses, but sadly they just don't fit my body type.  These were in size 00 petite and it zipped up just fine, but they weren't flattering.  The hemline was too long (not a big deal if I tailor it) and my ribs just stuck out like crazy (so NOT flattering or fixable with tailoring).  I tried on 3 total.  Here's one of them.
Notice the bulging rib cage and the paunch around the belly. yuck.

Barcelona

Apologies for the lack of posting.  Now that we're more settled in after the move AND we have internet, I can start posting again. Hooray! Now onto the vacation recaps!

The first city we visited was Barcelona.  I found Barcelona to be a beautiful city (especially so for those that appreciate architecture).  I'm not an architecture buff and even I enjoyed it!  The first night there hubby and I decided to take a stroll down La Rambla and the surrounding area after dinner. What I love most about Barcelona is that you can just walk to wherever you need to go and not have to rely on public transportation.  We found the one of the Gaudi buildings called Casa Batllo.  It's so detailed that you can stand there and stare at it forever.  Here's a picture of it :

Greetings!

Just a quick hello (because it feels like FOREVER since I've last blogged/ checked my blogs... so sorry!).  After coming back from vacation I've been super busy packing for our move. And this past weekend we finally did it! So now there are boxes alllllll over the place and we are currently still without TV and Internets. So I'm sneaking in a quick hello while at work. sssh.

In the meantime, here's a pic from Barcelona. I thought this owl billboard was so cute. And at night, the eyes glow! I promise to post pics from the trips as well my usual posts once I get situated.

***just kidding! i'm not able to upload pics at work on here. boo. dang network security. but i promise to show you pics as soon as i can!***

Miss you all!

Leavin' on a jet plane...

Apologies for the lack of updates. It's been a hectic couple of weeks and tomorrow I'll be leaving for a 2 week vacation to Spain and France... definitely a long overdue vacation! I will say that this trip as has been the least planned out of all past vacations (VERY surprising.. *OCD girl over here*).  And yet at the same time it's kind of refreshing to not have anything planned.  Spontaneity is the spice of life... supposedly. I'll have internet access every hotel I go to, so if anyone has suggestions for Barcelona and Paris (food, activities, or whatever else) I'd love to hear them!

Before I head off, here's a quick photo of a Sunday OTD.

LABOR Day Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend full of fun and relaxation! I on the other hand was definitely laboring (abeit voluntarily).

This past Sunday was the Disneyland Half Marathon! Goodness it was a difficult run! The conditions were definitely not optimal (for me).  Saturday was a travel day.  We flew down to SoCal (after a 2 hour delay) and before we could even check into the hotel we had to rush over to the Expo to grab our runner's packets. By the time we grabbed everything it was already 5pm and we opted for an early dinner at Bucca Di Beppo. Of course every runner (and their mommas) had the same idea and the place was packed.  We decided to grab Bucca To-Go instead so that we wouldn't have to wait an hour and a half for a table. At that point I was super dehydrated from a long day with little water.  Now what I forgot to mention is that the race starts at 5:45am (!) and we were supposed to be at our corrals by 4:30am... which means the hubsters and I would have to wake up at 3am to eat breakfast and get ready.  Chalk it up to nerves or that huge Bucca dinner... whatever it was, I COULD NOT FALL ASLEEP for the life of me! I think I got about 2 hours of sleep.  I woke up and as I was getting ready I noticed that I was feeling a little feverish. I popped an Advil and hoped for the best seeing as how I was running this race no matter what. I trained too damn long for this thing.

Here's a blurry cell phone pick of the start. See those bright lights ahead? That's where the starting line is.

So how did I do?

.... I finished! A few minutes shy of my goal but it's ok... next race!

Here's what the medal looks like. Not as cool looking as the Tinkerbell Half Marathon medal they had at the Expo but it's ok! I'm not complaining.
