Forever and a day...

Hi! Feels like an eternity since I've been on here.  So much has been going on and I feel awful for neglecting my blog.  I've missed reading all of your blogs too! So here's a quick recap of all the things going on:

1. We're REMODELING! Yup, that's right. our home is a big dusty mess (and will remain one for 3 months).  As of last week the kitchen is no more! Where once stood cabinets and counter tops is now one huge void.  And we have plastic drop sheets all over the house. It's seriously like a scene out of Contagion or something.  Meals have consisted of Subway sandwiches and Trader Joe's salads and entrees. Quite frankly I'm starting to miss a good home cooked meal.

2. I signed up for my first full marathon on a whim. Well, somewhat of a whim. I've been teetering back and forth about whether or not I really want to do it and the hubsters pointed out that there was a special one day only discount. So I did it.  Oh dear god what did I do?! So now most of my mornings consist of training for the race. Here's to 20 weeks of training!

3. A little bit of sad news.  We lost our dear rabbit over the holidays.  It was an especially tough time for me as it happened very suddenly.  It took a long time for me not to feel sad every time I thought about him or every time someone asked how he was doing and then I would have to tell them what happened.

That's pretty much all that's been going on.  I just haven't had the energy to blog or work on creating new pieces of jewelry for my Etsy shop until now.  I feel horrible for neglecting it for so long but I'm also very glad to be back now!  I still need to finish my Europe recap! sheesh! Talk about procrastinating. I'm going to post our San Sebastian pictures next time *promise*.

I'm going to leave you with a few pictures of our little bun bun.  We loved him very much and will always remember all the good times we had together.

  3. So sorry about the loss of little bun bun :/ I have two furry chinchillas and I can relate to the attachment to three little buggers. Unfortunately one day I will have to face the reality too so I am trying to enjoy their company while I can!
Good job with the marathon! Train hard and best of luck to the upcoming event!

  6. awww i'm so sorry for your loss :( he sure was a cutie.

and good luck with the remodel! I normally love eating out but during the week that we were remodeling the kitchen and were unable to use anything was OF COURSE the week that I was totally craving a home cooked meal.

And a full marathon? good luck! I attempted one a few years ago and I can just tell you that it was the WORST experience in my entire life. Even worse than childbirth. I had injured my foot two weeks before the race so I literally limped the entire 26 miles. I had trained with Team In Training so I had raised like $3000 and had hotel arrangements and everything so I didn't want to NOT do it. I ended up taking SIX hours to finish, I think I was the fourth to last person to finish and the streets were all opened up again (I think the only people behind me was a guy with artificial legs and two old ladies). It was such a humiliating and painful experience. I'm sure you'll do a million times better than me though ;)

    1. oh no! sorry to hear about your marathon experience. so far the farthest i've ran is a half marathon and i'm TERRIFIED of the full (since a half already tires me out). You're so hardcore! i don't know if i'd be able to run on an injured foot!
