Try Day Friday: Forever21 and Target (and H&M)

It's finally Friday again! Hooray!

For this Try Day Friday, I have a mini haul from H&M, Forever21, and Target.  Let me preface all the photos by apologizing for the clutter in the photos (a very unfortunate byproduct of home remodeling).

I'll start with my one shirt from H&M.  I already have plenty of chambray shirts but I really liked this one.  I talked myself into getting it since this one has a different pattern and wash than my other ones.  Does anyone enable themselves like that too? Or maybe I'm weird. Anyway... this shirt has a very subtle yet pretty pattern (not quite floral but not dots either).  Kinda hard to explain exactly what it but hopefully you can see it in the photo.  This top was a little under $30 if I remember correctly.  I find the fit to be very flattering and the material to be a good weight.  I would recommend this if you're looking for a non-plain/solid chambray shirt.

Moving onto the Target haul...

These were the minty green shorts that I had mentioned in a previous blog post.  I really like the lace detail on either side.  These shorts are low rise but they're not too low.  If you're looking for minty green goodness, you MUST get these! This gray top is also from Target.  It's a nice comfy relaxed fit with a single pocket.  I believe these shirts go on sale pretty often so be on the lookout.  It was on sale for $5 when I got it.  Sales make me happy <3

I fell in love with this next pair when I was browsing online.  I really liked the jacquard print.  In my opinion this is a good option for those just getting used to wearing printed bottoms.  These have a pretty pattern but they're more subtle.  These have the same fit as the mint ones.
Jacquard Shorts
I purchased this next pair mainly because I needed to get something else to have enough for free shipping (just being honest here).  I liked the belt so I thought I'd try these out since my basic denim shorts are all pretty old.  I'm not quite sure why but the fit on this one was tighter than the other two even though they are all size 1's.  I will say that these did wonders for my booty.  Not trying to make you look at my bum but I thought they gave my butt a nice shape and good lift.  Apologies for anyone that's been traumatized.
You can find the booty shorts here

Next up is this dress from Target.  Apologies for the wrinkles.  This dress pretty much went straight from the bag and onto my body cuz I couldn't wait to try it on. I thought it had the perfect combination of neon and pastel.  Also it has POCKETS! Is anyone else out there as obsessed with dresses with pockets as I am? The material of this dress isn't spectacular.  It's a little thin and there's no lining so you must wear a slip.  However, this dress was on sale for $15! I think that was a pretty good deal for such a cute dress. I don't mind having to throw on a slip just to wear this. I mean look at it!
Pocket Dress
I really really really wanted a utility vest.  Unfortunately the two that I was considering were no longer available in my size online.  I scoured the store trying to find them too... but no such luck.  So what's a girl on a mission to do but order the other remaining utility vest style.  Initially I thought that the pink detail might be too much but after seeing it in person I really like it!  I think the pink adds a hint of femininity to it.

You can find the utility vest here as well as the other two styles here and here.

I must be going through some shorts/vest phase or something because I also ordered not one but TWO more vests from Forever21.  I really wanted a denim vest and as soon as I saw the studded one I just knew I had to have it.  I got it in acid wash with silver studs but I believe it's also available in an indigo wash with gold studs.  The second vest looked blindingly white online so I was kinda let down when it was more cream in person.  I should have suspected something when I saw that it said "cream" in the description.  What a deceiving photo! I was on the fence about the cream vest but the hubby really liked it.  And who doesn't love it when their significant other really likes they way they look in a particular outfit/garment? The sizing was also better on the cream one since it was available in an XS.  The studded one was only available in S.

  10. Such cute finds - I love the chambray shirt from H&M! And don't worry, I think most of us shoppers tell ourselves similar things when we're buying something that we know we don't really need ;)
